A Personal Note
I love performing at libraries. Libraries are my favorite type of children's performance. I truly believe that if I can translate the fun of reading, I can change the world!

The Reading Circus
I do a magic/juggling comedy clown show, it's between 35 and 45 minutes (depending on the age of the audience). My show is fun, funny, fast-paced, and filled with interaction. I use between 10 and 15 individuals to come up with me and participate as magical helpers.

The show begins by putting on my make up. Not a lot of people have seen how a circus clown readies themselves, it's funny, educational and most of all silly.

We then go on an imaginary journey to the reading circus, where the children will perform all the things they might find in books about the circus. They are wild animals, acrobats (I help them do summersaults, safely), magicians, jugglers and of course there is one silly circus clown!

The Reading Angle
At each library show, I ask the librarian to pick out the appropriate books (magic, juggling, circus) and use the books as my background. I tell the children many of the tricks I do in my show I learned from these books and encourage them to check them out.

I encourage questions and if appropriate, I even tell stories about my time with the circus.I always make time after the show to sign autographs and take pictures and just meet my fans.

What's special about Boswick's Library Show?
My hope is the love and passion I feel for family performing shines through.

I believe that a clown is funny and I mean really funny. You will laugh, you'll be amazed at how much the children laugh and, of course, the children will know reading is fun!

The Give-aways
I always encourage the children to be a part of the reading program at each library and let them know the prizes they get for reading.

As part of my performance, I present one of my DVDs, Here Comes The Clown to the library. (first time booking only)

You can read reviews of Here Comes the Clown, in Booklist and School Library Journal, both magazines gave rave reviews. Booklist called it a "must own for clown fans everywhere"

The Price
I encourage librarians to block book in order to lower the fee. You do not have to book on the same day; just mention you are booking in conjunction with another librarian.

I keep my price under $300 in order to accommodate most libraries.
